I recently spent an afternoon creating with a friend. One of my favourite things to do. I had just purchased the Stampin’ Up! Hello, Doily stamp and wanted to give it a test run. Well what fun did we have?!! We created three cards using different techniques. All have a lovely vintage feel. Click on the photos to zoom in on the detail.
The above Oval Framelits card – we stamped the doily image onto vellum using the white craft ink. Using the back of the image facing out (what you see) we lined the vellum with Pacific Point card stock and used a beautiful brad for the centre of the doily. This is such a soft pretty card.
For the above card we stamped the doily image with VersaMark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder. Then using the emboss resist technique we sponged in Crumb Cake to make the image look 3D. I absolutely love this effect. Finished off the doily with the smallest Floral Frames framelits and an Antique brad. The sentiment is from the Loving Thoughts stamp set. A wee bit of embossed Old Olive card and a few pearls.
And finally probably my favourite for the day. Again we did the emboss resists as above. Stamped the En Francais background in Crumb Cake and sponged the edges of the card. Stamped the doily in Cherry Cobbler on Crumb Cake card and used the Dress Up framelits to cut out the dress. Then cut the top of the same dress out to make the jacket with matching pocket. We then added some Flower trim, pearls, tulle ribbon, seam binding ribbon and love tag to the card. The sentiment is again from the Loving Thoughts stamp set.
I hope you find inspiration from these cards. They were lots of fun and a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.
